HOW TO KNIT ON THE BIAS

Today I will show you how to knit on the bias. This is not the only technique to create a diamond shaped piece when knitting but it’s my favorite way to do so.

In the first part of this episode I will show you how your piece shouldn’t look like. Then I will show you how you can knit on the bias the right way.

Thank you for watching and please let me know if you have any comments or questions. If you would like me to cover a subject you are really interested please use the comment section here or on Youtube to let me know.

HOW TO BIND OFF THE RIGHT WAY

Today’s post is about binding off. This is such an important subject when knitting and since we have received so many questions on this I thought that it would make a great video.

I will show you how a good bind off should look like and how it shouldn’t. Also I have a few tricks for you so that you can improve your binding off skills.

We will start with 3 finished pieces. The bind off of the first one is not good and I will explain why. The other two pieces have a nice bind off. You will spot the difference right away.

In the second part I will show some tips & tricks when binding off.

As always I hope that you enjoyed this video. Please comment and ask here or on Youtube. Also feel free to request any knitting related subject that you would like me to cover in the SKEINO video blog.

SWATCHING LIKE A PRO

In this video I will talk about swatching. It’s always good to make a swatch before starting a knitting project just to make sure that the gauge given in the pattern is actually the one that’s right for you.

Here is how you can make a swatch that will help you to make the most out of your knitting project:

This week’s episode is a little bit more on the basic side. However  we get a lot of questions from our community about how to find the right gauge for their projects. I think the best way to do so is to make a swatch before you actually start with the pattern.

I hope you liked this video and as always please let me know your questions in the comments section here in the blog or on Youtube.

I hope you liked this episode. I will do a few more on the subject of finishing showing you some more techniques that I personally like a lot. Please let me know your questions and comments here in the comment section or directly on Youtube.
